Baptism Sunday

Jul 12, 2026    Catalin Dima

This powerful message centers on the transformative nature of baptism as a public declaration of faith and the beginning of a new life in Christ. Drawing from Matthew 28 where Jesus commands His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, we're reminded that baptism isn't about earning God's grace but celebrating what He's already done for us. The beautiful story from Acts 8 of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch illustrates a profound truth: access to God's love and salvation knows no boundaries of nationality, culture, social status, or past mistakes. The Ethiopian's question, 'What can stand in the way of being baptized?' echoes for us today - nothing stands between us and God's embrace when we choose to say yes to Him. The message emphasizes that baptism symbolizes a burial of our old self and a resurrection into new life, though it's just the beginning of our journey. We're given three essential tools for spiritual growth: God's Word as our lamp and light, God's people as our community and encouragement, and God's Spirit as our divine power to overcome and transform. This isn't about perfection but about progress, becoming better versions of ourselves through Christ's work in us.
